This piece touches on both aspects of my topic, use of technology and writing conferences with ESL students. The articles listed below do an excellent job of discussing how to incorporate various types of technology such as video recording devices, audio books, and computer mediated communication into the classroom. Allowing these items into one's classroom can not only help build ESL students' vocabulary, but it also allows them to use their acquired language with their peers in real situations, giving them the opportunity to learn from one another. Using a writing conference with ESL students is also another effective way to work independently with students to improve their writing. My articles suggest that during a writing conference, teachers must take on both the nurturing role, and the instructional role in order for students to be willing and open to learn.
