This newspaper article briefly discusses the importance of conducting writing conferences with ESL students. Many of my articles discuss that by using techniques such as questioning, teachers allow students take an active role during the writing conference which helps with both verbal communication skills, and writing skills. As teachers alter the method in which they conduct writing conferences to meet the needs of ESL students, they must think beyond the linguistic barriers, and look towards finding ways to establish a collaborative and trusting environment.
